FAQ

  • How long will I need to be in therapy?

Since all individuals are unique, it is difficult to say how long treatment might be needed. Instead, your treatment is tailored to your specific concerns and difficulties you desire to address. It can be helpful to discuss goals and progress with your therapist throughout the course of your treatment to determine the estimated length.

  • How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically 45-50 minutes, but we are open to discussing if you require shorter or longer sessions, such as for couples.

  • How do you become a psychologist?

Psychologists typically complete 5 to 7 years of education and training, from which they obtain either a Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) or a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy). They are also required to gain 3,000 hours of supervised experience in psychology, 1,500 of which are obtained post-doctorally. Finally, they must pass a national exam and a state exam to be licensed to practice independently in California.

  • How does payment work?

We require each client to have a credit card (FSA and HSA accepted) on file through a secure client portal. Payments are processed at the end of each session unless discussed otherwise.

  • Do you accept insurance?

At the moment, we are not in-network with any insurance panels. We offer “superbills” that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network (OON) reimbursement. We recommend you inquire about your benefits and OON reimbursement by calling your insurance company.

  • How much does each session cost?

Cost typically ranges from $200 to $275 for a 45-50 minute session. This fee will be discussed and agreed upon with each individual prior to or at the start of the first session. We work with each individual to establish an agreed upon rate to fit your budget to the best of our ability. Also, see “Do you accept insurance?” in our FAQ.
